This pent-up creative energy inside of me is making me crazy. Photography in itself has opened me up to others in a way I never knew was possible. Although I thoroughly enjoy using the camera, there is a part of me that remains trapped creatively. It's difficult to explain. I cannot paint. My handwriting is horrible due to 25 years of working round-the-clock on a computer keyboard. I hate to handwrite anything. In fact, when asked to do so, it aggravates me. I have always envied painters, as they could create their art with their own hands instead of relying on a 'device' such as a camera. Painters are true artists. My photography doesn't completely satisfy me creatively. I'm always on the search for ways that I can release more of the creativity within. The graphics tablet is beginning to help me with this. There is a huge learning curve. Debating for the last month about posting my 'early' tablet work, I have decided to "put it out there" for all to view and to critique. This is just one more of my New Years resolutions coming to fruition. We'll see where we go with this.
This is how it's done here in Texas with no snow! Merry Christmas to all! A creative farmer made this Texas snowman out of hay bales, an old tire and a barrel.
This is a 6-image panorama...the two buildings are actually in opposite directions with the Christmas tree in between them. The new Art House is on the left, and the Keller Town Hall on the right. I think it's interesting how the autumn colors are incorporated into the Christmas season here in Texas this year...makes for some great photos.
This is the first in a brand new series of work I have begun in digital painting. I hope you enjoy them...more to come!
